Community First Credit Union Accepting Scholarship Applications
March 1 Deadline
Community First Credit Union is now accepting applications for the annual Raymond A. Vinson Scholarship. Each year, Community First awards five graduating seniors a four-time, annual $1,000 scholarship to attend a Florida college or university.
The scholarship is open to all First Coast students who are members or dependents of a member of Community First Credit Union. The deadline to apply is March 1.
The Raymond A. Vinson Scholarship is awarded annually in honor of the founder of Community First Credit Union to students who excel scholastically and demonstrate financial need. Vinson founded the Jacksonville-based credit union in 1935 as the Duval County Teachers Credit Union, which originally had 50 members and $200 in assets. Today, the credit union is committed to investing in the community, with more than 106,000 members and over $1 billion in assets.
